Feb. 11 (UPI) — The University connected Alabama Board of Trustees voted Friday to remove the former KKK member to Alabama Gov. Bibb Cruel from a campus building while Tuscaloosa.
The previous Graves Hall has been called Autherine Lucy Hall after the first Black child to attend the university when 1956. Lucy encountered hurtful violence for enrolling in forms at the university.

Autherine Linda Foster, who, as the initial African American student to attend that University of Alabama, started out the door for students of all the horseraces themselves to achieve their dreams along at the University, ” said an announcement on the University of Al system’s website.
The university board organised a working group in May 2020 to conduct a helpful in-depth review of its identified as buildings, structures and settings on campuses.
That working group recommended renaming the building Lucy-Graves Hall.
A subsequent backlash based in esl/ell students, faculty and alumni influenced the collage trustees to re-evaluate your current naming decision.
